Clinician Support
Being a mental health clinician can be a uniquely isolating experience.
We are bound by confidentiality, and must protect our clients and their privacy, but this often means carrying silent burdens that cannot easily be shared with our support systems. Sometimes, we just want an ear that could listen to us talk about the frustrations we experienced that day or week, about our doubts about our capabilities as therapists, or even to share our happiness about a client’s progress. We may simply have ideas or dreams in creating something, but don’t quite know where to start. We may be frustrated by the system, and may feel that the systems that are in place to protect us do nothing to help us at all.
I know I have often felt this way, and I know the feeling of relief that can be brought by sharing these thoughts and feelings with another. I am therefore keen to positively contribute to the creation of a support system for mental health professionals.
I invite any mental health professional who may be interested in collaborating with me in some way, and who would like to work with me to create an ongoing practice that keeps us challenged yet supported.
